Vacuum Problem

HI I have a 1982 240D it wont shut off. I turn the key off and it keeps running. help!

Almost always a vacuum leak. Check all of your soft rubber vacuum connectors.

Does it shut down using the Emergency lever under the hood?

Worst case but less likely is a failed vacuum section in your ignition switch.

Yup. Vacuum leak somewhere. If it's a manual you can just stall it until you find the actual problem.
