I have no air in the car. What do I need to check?.

1987 300 SDL with 175k. Blower sometimes comes on intermittently.

Ignition switch, blower fuse, blower regulator, blower, in that order.

Blower regulator is below the blower in the air handling plenum. You will have to remove a ton of plastic, wiper, etc to get to it, but that's where it is..

It takes me about 20 minutes to get to the blower and the regulator. I'll bet the brushes on your blower are shot. At least that would be where I would start looking. The regulators rarely let go. You will need some guidance on removing the plastic, cowls, windshield wiper, snaps, etc..

If I recall this thread is about a 126 body car 300SDL. if thats the case the blower is easy to access under the dash on the passenger side. Looking at the power to it at the two pin blower connection can tell a lot. The 126 body is also notorious for having the ignition switch kill the blower only. A simple wiggle of the switch is all that is necessary to diagnose that one if the problem is occuring. Be sure that there isn't a hang-on fuse for the blower; the fuse box terminals weren't designed for the blowers load and many circuits were removed.
