Lights on Climate Control

Got a 88, 190e 2.3. No lights on the climate control panel. How are those controls lit? I didn't see on the back of the panel a way to insert a bulb. Thanks

I believe the lights are in the PBU. There might be a couple of strips of black tape over the bulbs. Remove the tape and use some rubber hose to pull off the bulb.

Question, what's a PBU, push button unit? Are they in under the button?

I take it back. I’m talking about the 124 and late 126 units that have 2 bulbs above the row of buttons. I don’t see the same in the 190E unit.

The later W201 AC control unit has a little panel or door you open that has the two bulbs in it. Not sure if the earlier console uses the same part.

The date on this pushbutton unit is 1990.
Press the tabs indicated by the arrows with a small screwdriver and lift up.

Fantastic! Couldn't be clearer. Thanks. Where do you get your bulbs?
