722.5 Leaking at rest
Hey,
I’m having a transmission on my 91’ 300SL (M104.981/722.5). The transmission will leak while “sitting” over a period of time, I’ve been doing some engine work and while looking under the car, it’s leaking a lot. The leak comes from the passenger side of the transmission, front half of the pan length. Looking at this side of the transmission, I see the B1 piston, oil cooler line, dipstick tube and the bowden cable. Combining with the fact that it will leak only while the car is off and has been sitting, which of these components are most likely to let go of fluid? I assume that after the fluid drains (car off) it will raise above the pan gasket level and oil cooler line level, not sure about the dipstick/bowden cable as they are high.. (I know it’s the 722.3 in the pic, just for reference) Last edited by ytech15; 04-27-2018 at 08:11 AM. |
