Replace Engine?

I have a '93 300SD with 243k mikes. Looks brand new. However it has been burning oil (1 qrt per 100 miles!). I had the engine worked on by Mercedes at 80k miles for the same reason. There is no pick-up. Loss of compression? Should I have the engine rebuilt and by whom?

Thanks,

Gregg

The turbo could be loosing the oil out of the exhaust side.

Also, the rods will bend and this will cause oil consumption.
