W124 Wagon Sway Bar Bracket

I just did the bushings on my sway bar and am wondering about proper install direction for the sway bar brackets.

Mine were both facing so the small "C" shaped part of the bracket was in the front. I looked at the factory manual for the torque numbers and they have the bracket facing the opposite direction.

Any one care to comment on this?

C bracket on front side

Both my 95 E300, my 91 300TE, and my Dad's 95 E300 have that C shaped part of bracket attached to the front side of the bracket attached to the chassis.

Your right- the FSM shows the main bracket attached to the chassis so that the C shaped piece is assembled facing rearward

Mystery!
