Lighting for climate control panel not working

Actually it's the temp. select wheel and fan control that don't light up. Now maybe they aren't supposed to, I don't know. My other Mercedes had the old Chrysler unit. Since I have owned this TD, these two controls never were lit up. If they are supposed to light up, is it easy to replace the bulbs?
