a word of caution
if you plan to do this hack, just take note that the thermistor is inside a sealed metal cannister-housing. i sliced the probe's housing open with my dremel metal cutting head to start. afterward, i closed it up again, taped it and used heat shrink tubing where i could after replacing the thermistor but i'm not that happy with the end result. i'm afraid that moisture will get in there and short the leads out. i'll probably go back and reseal it with silicone sealant or something of the sort one of these days...

Thermistor
I was referring to Fenwal at newark ref# 30F1797, part#192-302LET-A01 at 9.62@ plus shipping plus $5.00 for order less than $25.00.
However, if Thermometrics which is cheaper, has the same result, then it's more practical to use them. Thanks. |
