Where can i get repair manuals SL, S class...

My mechanic is asking me, where he can get repair manuals for S class as well as SL's. What kind do I have to purchase? Is there any on the cd rom.

If your mechanic is a real MB tech he will want to purchase MB WIS (workshop information system). It is about $2800 and is a years subscription with 12 updates. It doesn't time out though so it covers a moment in time.

For your own purposes the "Introduction to Service" manual for chassis 129 would be the tool. Buying each model year between 1990 and your year will give a few extra bits and pieces. There are training CDs that appear regularly on ebay called "info access". There is one on the 129 chassis.

Does Introduction to Service has information for hydraulic suspension as well as other electrical components infor and convertable tops?
He doesn't want to spend a lot of $ for it.

Real systems require real info. If he doesn't want to pay for the info he shouldn't be working on the systems.

These systems are complicated enough that all the available info is a minimum for analysis. You should know that anyone working on these systems for the first time is bound to cost someone lots of money in training.

The "Introduction to Service" is an overview of the technical theory of new systems and will be a good start for learning. Some repairs can be started from the book. Unfortunately its not the whole story. It doesn't have complete wiring diagrams and it doesn't list diagnostic procedures.

I would suggest that you limit your use of this tech to service items and parts replacement. His lack of interest in his trade can't work to your benefit.
