I'm having trouble with my 96 Mercedes Benz S50p it keeps overheating. The water pump works fine I don't know Mich about these vehicles but every so often it leaks right where the radiates fluid goes in and leaks badly I need some suggestions on what it could be it tales about 20 or so minutes before it starts to heat up weve kept water and antifreeze in it and stop leak to and nothing im hoping its not the head gaskets but ive been told of its low on oil it could male it overheat it not the thermostat ciz it looks brand new it has a brand new water filter in it to the fan runs fine the heat does run a lil hot after the car starts heating up plz any advice would help

Replace the cap on the expansion coolant tank . If the seal is faulty or old or split it is doing nothing and needs a new one . Plus we have no info on what model you have this will make it hard to help you .You could post a picture of the leak .If it as a leak the coolant wll never circulate. Test thermostat but puting it in a bown of hot water from cold and see if it opens up. Or it might be stuck open .

It would help if you would be more specific about "overheating". I'm not familiar with your year/model or fan setup, but on my '88 the clutch fan does not engage until about 100C and the auxiliary electric fans don't engage until 105C. In cool weather it usually runs about 80C.

If your car has an actual temperature gage, what readings are you seeing under what conditions.

A can of gloop isn't going to stop anything from leaking on a Mercedes except possibly coolant through the radiator and heater core. Fix the leak, flush out the contaminated coolant, replace the thermostat, and then re-evaluate the cooling system's performance.
