Original M110 engine Exhaust Manifold Finish
Were the M110 engine Exhaust Manifolds a bare casting or did they have a finish applied from the factory? I seem to recall seeing a gold finish on a low mileage car, but not sure. If there was a colored finish, I was thinking of having a pair powder coated to match original finish appearance

Not sure about the M110 specifically, but in period most exhaust manifolds had a very light gray high heat paint on them. It didn't hold up long and rust spots started appearing quickly.
Fred, the M112/113 exhaust manifolds actually have a stainless steel jacket to aid in keeping the exhaust gases hot on a cold start. The reason is to warm the catalysts falser for emission reasons. |
