Question Where did this thing plug in?

In the lower left hand corner there is a vacuum gizmo that has something to do with the exhaust gas recirculation. I think it comes from the activated charcoal cannister. Look at the plastic tube that the light is laying on. Where does that tube plug? It's about 18" long.

I think that one could be the vacuum lead to the unit with a red line and no description in my picture below.

Do you see the grey hose just in the lower left hand corner of that picture entering the unit? Look and see if yours belongs there..

What is that unit called? Ignition control (wild guessing)?

Cap'n...while looking around there. Can you see if you have a loose 3rd wire next to that hood-switch in the picture? Or let me know how your 3 wires are connected if there are no loose ones. I believe they all are brown/brown-something... thanks!

It should plug into this line.
The end of the line may be hidden in the grommet.

Joe , that line you pointed to is already connected. The loose one is the one pointing back toward the engine but It has a curve in it so it could go anywhere. Amuso, I have a thingy in the fenderwall like yours with nothing plugged into it.

Does your car have a upshift delay valve by the bosster? If it does, sis you get that from there?

Have you checked underneath the intake manifold real good cap'n? I know it is a little different creature but I have some vacuum connections underneath the intake manifold - look around real good under there. I too pull vacuum hoses and wires over to the sides and "fix" them out of the way when I am doing alot of work on the engine.

Jim, I don't think this line is a vacuum generator. It is way too clean to have connected to the intake. I just don't remember where it did come from. There is supposedly a an "air can" that feeds the charcoal cannister. I'm thinking it went to that. I took an image of it tonight and will post it tomorrow when I get on the "fast "computer!!

Here's a better pic. The gizmo is in the upper left corner. The tubing end is in the lower right. The other gizmo is in the fender wall in the center right. They don't fit together. Is that where it goes and a connecter is missing?

Perhaps someone else can confirm this, but I believe its a vent line and should be left open at that end.

I finally found it! Jim you were right, it went to the manifold.

After looking at another 300, I saw that it attaches under the airflow plate, under the line that connects to the thermovalve. Only probelm is, it didn't help to connect it. I figured that an open vaccum port would help correct poor idle and low manifold vaccum. This one didn't. Anyone know if there is supposed to be significant vaccum at this port. I measure less than 1"hg.
