hot start problem
 

My new project car 86 Euro 500 SE has a strange hot start problem about one out of four statrs when engine is hot it will not start unless I hold accelerator to the floor and crank it for some time then it stumbles and runs poorly for a few seconds then runs fine, also one out of ten cold starts it will crank fine but no start unless I turn kew off and recrank then it fires instantly.I have been working on brakes and supension ,belts and hoses ect. and have not replaced plugs, wires. or Dis cap rotor any ideas other than tune up,also engine cranks very fast , normal?

have you checked the fuel pressure. if there is a pressure drop when it is cold it will crank for a long time.Possible fuel accumalator or fuel distributor.
