I have a 1988 300E, the map holders on the back of the front seats have broken and I would like to repair them. The seats are leather and have motorized controls, I was told to simply remove the screws at the bottom of the seat and slide the back panel down. It seems easier said than done. When I tried trhis the leather up near the joint of side panel to the back panel started to tear. .....is there something else I need to do? Should I remove the seat back to do this? I'd appreciate any help from someone who knows or has done this before. Also anyone know where to get replacement map holders?
