99 W210 E300 seat issue
I have spent all day chasing an issue with the passenger side seat on my 99 E300. Basically the seat works except for back rest, head rest, and front up and down. It moved back and forth, and the back goes up and down. When I activate the switch for the functions that do not work, the module under the seat can be heard to click. I started with swapping out the switch just to see what would happen. It basically did the same thing. I then unbolted the seat to gain access to module and plugs. It has been a while since I have had one of these seats out so I wanted to get a good look at things. I figured out which plug went to the motor and when connecting negative directly from the battery to the proper pin to the motor, and 12 volts to the pin to the motor it runs. Reversing the connections reverses the motor. I then put the meter on the pins out of the module and when activating the switch I get power, but not even a volt, more like half a volt. I figured that told me the relays in the module were clicking but maybe not sending power to the motor. I swapped out the module for one out of a different car and it was the same issue. I then pulled the seat out of a different car that works perfectly in the other car. Hooked it up in the E300 and exact same thing. So, I am now at a loss as to what to check next or what the issue might be. Anybody have any ideas?
