w124 5-speed 717.430

Hey guys!

I recently manual swapped my m104 124 wagon with an 1986 717.430 gearbox.

I did my first test on the jack stands and it appears 2nd gear is shot. It just grinds when I release the clutch. Id imagine it would spit it back out if the wheels were on the ground.

I have a couple of questions:
Is there a write up on rebuilding these gearboxes?
Does anyone have a functional Getrag for sale near FL or NC?
And for those who have done the swap yourselves, did you have alignment issues with the driveshaft carrier bearing? How did you resolve?

Thanks in advance!
