Question Easy Idle Problem Fix

Has anyone experiencing idle problems(i.e. stalling when coming to a stop) in thier 103 engined car tried simply turning up the idle the old fashioned way, using the throttle cable adjustment screw? All it does is simply take out the slack of the cable but if screwed out far enough you can raise the idle using this technique. I know this isnt the proper way to do it but it is an easy fix that can make the car at least drivable until the real fix is found. So far my car hasnt stalled since.
