Can I change brake discs and add Porterfield pads at the same time?

I need to replace some warped rotors on my '97 E420 and while I was in there I was going to replace my pads with Porterfield RS4 street pads because they supposedly produce less brake dust. However I read on a message board that I should not use new Porterfields on new discs. Is that a bunch of baloney, or is there any logic behind it?
