We have had a few good thunderstorms. right now the lincoln is outside on the driveway; yesterday noticed the front passenger floor board carpet was wet. I got out my trusty rainbow vacuum cleaner and pulled quite a bit of water out of the front passenger side floorboard. If anyone knows the Rainbow D4 SE vacuum cleaner, then you know the water removing abilities of the machine. I then drove around with the windows opened to help dry it out.

Last night we had another bad rain storm so I can't wait to see how much water is in the floorboard. My plan in the short term is to put the merc outside so I can park the lincoln in the garage for the time being. All that said, would anyone have any ideas where to start to track down this water leak?

sorry to come on here with domestic car issues, I don't know where else to turn. If anyone knows where there is a good domestic car forum for Lincoln Town Car problems, I'll scoot over there.

Sunroof? If so, the drains may be clogged.

If no sunroof, check the cowl intake at the base of the windshield and see if its flooded. The drain may be clogged there.

thank goodness it does not have a sunroof so I'll check the other drains.

Check the water drains built into the lower portion of the passenger side front door. If they are plugged, water may be building up in the door shell and leaking into the vehicle.

Also, the air conditioning condensate drain may be plugged and causing water to leak onto the affected area.

Another big surprise; tonight I found a ton of water in the right rear passenger floorboard! Again, I took my trusty Rainbow D4 SE water vac and sucked a full bucket of water out of the carpet. I'm trying to re-arrange my garage so I can park the Lincoln in the garage.

I'm wondering if the water in the back seat area is also coming from the front right passenger door?

At this point, I would just check the drains located at the bottom of all four doors. It's a 21-year-old car, so it is possible that any of those drains could be blocked. How are the door weatherstrips? Any pieces missing or compressed via age?
