190e 16 valve a/c expansion valve
Can you give me mb part numbers for the expansion valves for a 190e 2.3-16? Mine is converted to 134a and it doesnt keep up with the hotest of 99 degree days. Is there a difference between a 134a valve and the r12 valve, and if so, can you post the mb part numbers for the two pieces?

This is a tough one. You have converted a car that wasn't meant for the 134. It probably will never be as cold. That said, I always turned in the brass plug on the bottom of the expanson valve by a turn to a turn and a half when converting. You may also want to turn your aux fans on a little higher with a different resistor.

what is the brass plug your referring to? Is it on the top or bottom when the exp valve is mounted to the car? So is it clockwise or counterclockwise when mounted? Ill give this a try.
Thanks god I have another car to use in the funky summer heat, lolol |

Benzmac:
I located the expansion valve on my 190. It is under the cowling and has a dial like piece on top. I tried turing it but it wont turn. I looked for the red vacumn hose, replaced a rubber vacumn line at the right side near the a/c lines to the fan box. What other rubber vacumn hoses are under there? All the lines are a hard plastic. |
