w140 s320l no power to fuel injectors.

Hi all,

Have a 1998 w140 s320l with the m104 engine in it which is having problems getting power to the fuel injectors.

Replaced the fuel pump, works and delivers fuel to the rail without issue. Replaced the crankshaft position sensor and we have spark, car runs on starting fluid without problems.

I even had the key checked out to make sure it wasn't that, it unlocks and locks the car as expected.

There isn't anyone in my area, that i know off, that does mobile STAR scanning so I can't really get it scanned, not easily.

Is this something to do with the DAS system or ECU? Not really too sure where to start and hoping someone here can assist.

Thanks, Max

You might need to have someone plug in who can see real time values. I would start out by getting a noid light or just a plain test light. the injectors should have constant power that is activated by a ground pulse via the ECU. If you have the green and red lights on your rear view mirror, make sure the green one flashes when unlocking the car to confirm drive authorization.

Hi Paul, there aren't any lights on the mirror unfortunately so i can't tell if i have authorization to drive.

I'll see if i can get a noid light and try that. Will update if i find anything.
