Weird vibes in reverse...

When I go into reverse to back out of the garage I get this weird vibration and shuddering noise sounds like it's coming from the driver side front wheel. No noise or symptons going forward except I get a rubbing feeling on hard right turns.

Steering coupling?
Flex Disc?
Other?

Thanks.

J. Boggs

What model?

Some 126 cars have abs sensor problems that activate the abs at low speeds, 210's, 202's and 140's will drop the insulation on the tunnel on to the front flex disc causing weird noises. 722.3 tranny will overextend the k2 apply piston and hit the fron drun.

I'm having this EXACT same problem, which makes me hopeful it is fairly common, although I cannot seem to find an answer out there... Any help?

W126? .My does that too,it sounds like a tire rubbing, after the car had been unused for some time,it was quite loud. It's the LSD,(If you have one).I can't see any other reason for the noise because over the years everything else has been changed etc on my 500SEc ,including the steering box ,drive shaft, autotrans ....Big miles on this thing.

I was informed by my mechanic that it is my motor mounts -- I am replacing them this weekend so we will see...
