Con rod weight
I regards to the rebuild of my '80" 240d engine, I have run into a snag and could use some help. The block is at the machine shop ready for sleeves and new pistons. Two con rods are NG so I got a couple from another 240d but they are close to 20 grams more in weight (ea). Can not my rods be ground down to match the weight of the lighter ones? And if that is done would that affect the balance of crank, flywheel or what ever? The shop seems reluctant to chop 20 grams off two rods.
