Trans fluid question

Just had the radiator soldered to fix a leak. The radiator wrench lost some tranny fluid taking off the cooler line. He added some fluid and the dipstick said it was low so he added more and now it's too full. I checked it after driving, so it was good and hot. It's about an inch over the top mark. Is this too full? Should I drain some out? What's the best way to drain it? Topsider? Thanks.

I'm not familiar with your car, but many MBs have a drain plug on the tranny pan. In my case a 5mm allen head wrench gets it out. Look at your tranny pan and locate the drain plug. I'd pull it out and drain off a little, then put the plug back in.

with the topsider you can check and adjust the level while it's hot.

Checking tranny fliud levels in a Mercedes is tricky at best. Read your owner's manual. The level is heavily effected by the ATF's temp. According to my owner's manual, if the tranny is hot like just coming off the highway, you're supposed to let it cool for 30 min. before checking. I don't have my owner's manual in front of me to quote it, but I do remember it says if the tranny is cold, the fluid on the dipstick will be below the min. mark. When I get my owner's manual, I'll post exactly what it says.
