bleeding breaks
Just replaced all discs, pads, bearings and master cylinder. I have been bleeding this system for over an hour now and can not get any fluid to both rear calipers. All i get is very little air and peddle goes to the floor.I can not get enough peddle preasure to push fluid to rear wheels. Both front wheels are O.K. Should my assistant [wife] apply a constant preasure after one pump of the peddle or pump peddle several times? Right now with all bleed screws closed the peddle goes to the floor.Yes master cyl. reservoir is full. 89 420 sel

Brake Bleeding
I Would Try to BLEED the Master cylinder First!
Try Pumping the Brake Pedal 4/5 times Hold Pedal down Bleed the R/R First! Then L/R Then R/F Then L/f Hopes this helps ..Or try to locate a Vac Bleeder that Sucks the Brake fluid through the System or A Power Bleeded..Thats What I Used When I Had My Shop! good luck |

When I bled my 190e, I had the same experience. Look at the master cylinder reservior closely. On my car there was actually two chambers to the reservior. The small rear chamber feeds the rear brakes. In order to fill this chamber, I had to top off the reservior and shake it to get the fluid to transfer. I was also sratching my head trying to figure this out for an hour. I bet yours is the same.
BTW. Pressure bleeding is the way to go. Tinker |

Be sure to top of the reservoir after about every third crack of the bleeder screw. Remember, you have to get the front chamber full to the point it looks like it will run over before fluid transfers to the rear chamber.
