Help, it leaks all over!!!

I was going thru my 89 560SL, it was time to get to the ATF, well took the pan off, easy, got Dextron II ATF as in the car manual instructions. easy job. Now the transmition leak all over the place, it even seems to be leaking from the front seal, took the pan out again check tha gasket, everithing look fine pot it back again, at first does not seem to leak but after a while it start, is there any posibility the front seal went bad on me? on a side note, the grid on the converter housing is broken look like it hit something, the converter has some marks on it, is it just a coincidence?
