Replacing auxiliary fan on 400E

One of the auxiliary fans on my 92 400E was dead, I want to remove the dead fan and give it a check, I read the service CD, it is said that I have to disconnect the AC pressure hoses to the condenser and a remove the whole radiator, it sounds like a very difficult job.

Has anybody done this? if I disconnect the A/C hoses, does this mean I have to recharge the A/C again?
