That McGeorge Mercedes is just up the road from my folks place. My father's experience with them is that they don't like the older cars. My father was having a climate control problem with his '85 300D, when he brought it to them, they didn't seem to eager to work on it.
Quick question though, does anyone know what "install BG MOA" is?

What a minute!, What happened to MB not recommending the use of oil additives. At least in my owner's manual it states that. Granted it was 1983, but oil has improved in 19 years, so why the need for additives. As a matter of fact, I have yet to see any car company recommend any oil additive. I know that my VW's owner's manual does recommend fuel cleaner occasionally, but it also says they don't recommend any oil additives. This sounds like a little profit padding to me.

Exactly what I was thinking Rick. That and how I'd love to be the BG distributor for this place. If I was having work done there I'd tell them to run their BG up their, uh, well you know, like an enema sort of? They are not being good Germans, they are not following orders. Ve haf vays uf making zem follow orders.
I also like how they actually have a maintenance service for the power steering fluid, which isn't a recommended MB service (not that people don't ever do it, which is fine) but then also have the BG "kit" for the power steering fluid. Wonder if that's a 12 ounce or 16 ounce "kit"? In case you can't tell, I dislike additives. Gilly

Don't get wrong, I have heard nothing but great things about their fuel additives. Even if I had heard of their oil additives, it still doesn't mean the car companies want them used. Who knows, maybe McGeorge is using some low grade motor oil and have to add this oil additive. Of course charging th customer for it.
