Hi.
Can you tell me please how to do hydraulic tappets adjustment on my 190 E 1988 2.3L. I was in MB dealer and they did not know how to . Is that possible? Peter K 190 E 88 350SL 72 |

Adjustment of the hy/lifters is easy, there are different size shims above & below the lifter element that can be replaced. The hard part is trying to figure out what size shim to install. Requires special tools including mechanical rocker arm from early "euro" 190s. Lots of time required!!

If you haven't had the valve train worked on, you shouldn't have to adjust hydraulic valves...If they are noisy, it idicates a faulty hydraulic lifter.
