Transmission swap

A quick question. Can I fit a 722.400 transmission from a 190E into a 300TE 24?
a) Will it fit?
b) Will it work?
I only need it on a temporary basis while I rebuild the 722.359 from the car.
(I can get the 190 box very cheap!)
