On my '85 300CD, the buzzer is barely audible. Before I take the cluster out, I'm wondering if these things tend to fail and if I should have a new one at the ready or... What might cause the buzzer to be barely audible, anyway?

The warning buzzer is under the under dash panel on the drivers side. Must be the relay itself.

When you say "under the under dash panel", would that mean that I might be able to avoid removing the instrument cluster and just drop the panel to get to the relay?
