W123 200 problem
The cold start fast idle has stopped working on my UK model '83 W123 200 , carb version.
The only manual I have is Haynes which isn't very clear on this function , can any1 help me out please ? |

I am not familiar with the model but if you have a mechanical automatic choke it sounds like the linkage to the choke is disconnected or that the choke is somehow jammed or malfunctioning.

More info
Thanx 4 yr answer , but it's more complicated than that
The choke and fast idle R independant functions on this carb , the choke works fine but the fast idle system is non-functional. If some1 cud explain the fast idle system I can take it from there |

There are too many possibilities. If the car has an electronic control system. Have you been messing with anything?
Throttle adjustment... Flow control meter? You will need a manual to figure out what went wrong and to set it right.

Not quite !
U wud have 2 B familiar with the model 2 understand this particular problem.
There R no engine electronics except for the ignition system , but that is not associated with the carb. The carb has an electromechanical system for fast idle , but without operating information I cannot fault find it. This is a malfunction not an owner induced problem Thanx anyway |
