Check Engine

The Check Engine Light came on! Manual says emissions or Fuel system check asap. So Its the long weekend and I don't see feel or hear anything seems to work fine. My question is by driving this car like this. Is it going to damage the enigne in some way? Just bought it. Used E300 93

The check engine light is used to warn you that one of the emission related components is not checking out as needed. If the engine runs OK and IS NOT SKIPPING, you should be fine unitll you can get it to the shop.

Engine Check problem

Thank for the info. I took the car in as soon as the shop opened on tuesday and he looked at the
Mod with all the little code lights and said the
Emissions controls was indicating that it was not getting enough Oxygen a tube was clogged. When you come to a stop or slow down the sensor check it a couple of time and then sets the Check engine switch. He reset the light and I take it in on Friday to clean the tube.
Thanks do much for your help I was worried I was going to do a number on the car if driven.

I think you will find he is talking about the Infamous EGR tube blockage.
Very common on the 104 engine..
Do a search for egr and you will find many threads on it to familiarize yourself with this problem..
