Need some advice on changing bushings and mounts
Has anyone out there replaced either of the following things:
-front sway bar bushings -rear subframe mounts I would appreciate any advice on either of these jobs, how difficult they were, and whether special tools are required. The sway bar mounts look like they can be changed by just unbolting the bracket and wiggling it out of there - I'm just not sure if the sway bar is under tension. The subframe mounts, on the other hand, look like a real project! Thanks, Greg '84 300D, 166k |

Front sway bar bushings were incredibly simple on my 89 260E. Even without any experience, it is about a 30 minute job.
The bar is not under tension. After you unbolt the brackets that hold the bushings, the bar simply drops out. The real challenge was cleaning the dirt and grime from under my fingernails when done, so I suggest rubber gloves.
