Hi all,
Need a little advice, my 86' 300E has a compressor noise that sounds like a bag of marbles when engaged, noise does not change with increase of RPM, otherwise works fine, so in your expert opinion, without actually hearing it, is it the clutch or compressor?
BTW it's a nippondeso unit.
Thank you for the help,
Chris C.

Sound is like your fan belt tensioner shock
is bad...check the shock first.

If the compressor is going bad, do replace it before it siezes up! If it siezes, parts will fly and you will have to replace may parts to get all of the contamination out.
