Climate control unit '88 260E
My climate control unit fan has completely stopped working, while all other functions appear to still operate. During the past year there was intermittent clicking sound and sometimes the fan would slowly come to a dead stop, then come on to a normal speed, usually after I started the engine.
I checked the flat fuse for the fan as well as my mechanic recommending that I replace the climate control unit after a diagnosis. The parts area of this site offers a new and a rebuilt climate control unit, both for under $300, which is much less than my mechanic was able to quote me. Can anyone give me a reccomendation on purchasing a new or rebuilt climate control unit. |

Check the fan iself and the ign switch. My 88 TE was supplied voltage direct from the ign switch to the flat fuse, then to the regulator. Generally, PPB's dont cause a non-working blower.
