I'm using 1993 220E with 140000 km in Thailand. The air-conditioning system only run well in the morning when I first start the car. It have worked only sometimes in the afternoon, depending on my luck. Also, when it's raining, the a/c completely stops to blow a cold air although before that it worked fine. I went to a shop, the technician said the freon pressure is normal and he suspected the failure of the a/c controller. Is there anything wrong with it?
Thanks in advance. |

I don't know about E220 (not in USA)
but just like BENZMAC say Be sure to check the strip fuse that is located on or near the drivers side strut tower. It is a small box about an inch by two. Open it and with the car and blower off (fuse cooled off), push on it, if it breaks, it was at fault. The regulator for the blower is located under the blower motor and is pretty difficult to replace not to mention expensive. (strip fues is not in main fuse box) ------------------ MB STARS Master Guild Technician,12 years MB tech 5 years independent shop owner |

Be sure also to check the condition of the belt and the tensioning device. If one or both are faulty, fix them to solve your problem. If the compressor slips it will stop. Also check your aux fan for operation.
