My MB books call for using a minimum 45 cetane diesel fuel, however, all I have found at the pumps are minimum cetanes of 40. My car is a 1981 300D. What do you diesel owners fuel your cars with? What brands? What cetane rating? Do you use additives to boost the cetane, such as RedLine 85 Plus? My engine is clicking when accelerating and I want to make sure the fuel is not the culprit.
