Unhappy hood pad insul install-YELP

Trying to install a new hood pad on my R129 due to deterioration of the old one. I was surprised that this particular car came with this flimzy, bed eggcrate looking pad instead of the older sl pre- formed rigid insulation. How do you guys install this w/o taking the hood off??? Grow 2 more hands??
I appreciate "you all's" input

I literally threw mine up by approximate guestimation after pre-gluing it. Came out perfect. Luck using only 2 hands i guess.
