heavy modifications. No more...
New regulations are now in place in our neck of the wood about modyfying an operating a car.
Lowered suspensions, modified lighting, larger than life wheels/tires combination, modified exhaust system (jumbo mufflers), additional lights (windshield washer nozzles and the like) , running with fog lights when there is no fog/rain/snow, airplane type spoilers, heavy body modifications, decalcs in windshield/windows, loud speaker systems that can be heard outside the car and more are now subject to sanctions. There is no fine, no jail sentence, but the car has to be brought back to original configuration before taking the road again, after an inspection. This is as a result of a lot of kids having gone too far with their ricers. Mkes sense to me. |

Jack:
I used to be illegal (big fine) to raise or lower a vehicle more than three inches from factory, tinted windows were banned, loud mufflers were illegal, etc here in Indiana, but either the laws were repealed or they are not enforced any more. Headlights had to be within a certain height range, too -- would make those new SUVs look mighty strange with the headlights under the front bumper! Canada seems to be much more reasonable about such things. I expect to see the same restrictions here eventually -- political freedom do not, as I see it, mean no laws! Certainly I have the same right to reasonable decibel limits on a vechicle as the owner does, since his noise impacts on my ears! Peter
