300sel.. Why does air blow into the front door cavities?????

Why is there a vent opening from the dash to the front door cavities??? There does not appear to be an exit for the air on the door any where...

I'm sure there is a simple explanation, but after several minutes of poking around last night, beats me...

Jay..

So.. What would be the purpose of blowing air into the door, only to exit the water drain holes????

The air comes out the perforations in the center insert. Its designed to keep a cool door panel when the A/C is on and a warm one when the heat is on.
