Car gets rusty noiss when parking

My 87 300E produces a strange noise when I hit the brakes and the car slows down to below 5 mph.
I was thinking there is some rust that causes this noise but
could this be because of something else???

Question

The noise feels that a peice of metal or so is getting rusty and thus producing that noise.
This noise happens when I put the gear on 'D' and the car starts rolling without puching gas or touching the brakes.
A freind told me may be one of the brake pads is getting rusty!!!!

The parking brakes on the rear wheels can get rusty, because the drum brake does not self-clean itself as efficiently disc brake. This happened to my 400E, I just removed the rear discs and exposed the parking brakes, gave it a through spray with brake cleaner, and greased the joints with brake paste, then readjusted it, the noise was gone since then.
