91 300TE only starts in "N"

Dear All:

We had a new water pump installed last week. The day after we got the car back it won't start unless it is in neutral. After it warms up it starts in Park. Today it will only start in "N". Is it the backup light/neutral safty swith next to the tranny?

TIA for any insights.
