intermittent electrical problem
Hello
My 95 e320 is having some intermittent electrical problems. I noticed that cruise control, temperature display and real headrest release stops working sometimes. Would this be related to wiring harness problem? Thanks |

Wiring harness problems are usually related to engine problems, misfiring, random fault codes, etc.
Your problem sounds different. Have you checked your fuses?

Cruise control and temp are probably the fuses in the rectancular black box in passenger side. Change all four out. The rear headrests might be a vacuum problem. Check vacuum hose and connection in the trunk.

rear headrest not working
My rear headrest has refused to operate at all and won't come down when I touch the switch on the console. The rear vacuum unit buzzes at a regular interval for about 5 minutes everytime the engine is started. Its a nerve wrecking buzz for backseat passengers who always ask what is that noise? It could be a leak, but no one knows where it is failing. One tech said, its easy, let me replace it for A$1200, but I have been told that the leak is somewhere in the car and you will continue to have the buzz until the leak is sealed or the hoses changed. The vacc unit is not faulty, only going beyond its normal capacity to generate enough vacuum for the door locks , etc. Has anyone else got any other theories?
