Unhappy whine and mild vibration

ok, I can't figure this one out. '88 300Te at speeds over 40mph
whine and mild vibration when steering wheel is turned evebn slighty to right. When merely adjusting to road conditions and wheel is turned to left. Noise disappears.
Tires wearing normally, Steering pump is full, no misalignment to
speak of ,brakes about 6months old. Please any suggestions,.
Almost sounds like somethings gonna break.

Thank y'all
