Red and green lights flash on rear view mirror while trying to start car
 

Hello.

I posted a month ago about the lock out and took the car home and undid the battery, Well the next day it started.
Today i had the same problem drove the car all day and stopped for 10 minutes and now will not start. Unhooked the battery but did not help this time. Car turns over but will not start. red and green light flash while trying to start the car. This time it happened while using the flat key. (*had to order a new infra red key 150.00) ANY SUGGESTIONS? SL320 1996

Since no one else has an answer yet, I suggest you try the SEARCH if you have not already done so. Here is one solution to try.
red & green lights flash...
Your car is evidently not recognizing the key.

your dealer will assume the problem when the new key comes, at least. :)
