I recently purchased a 1995 SL320 through a Starmart Preowned MB from a dealer. Couple days after I brought the car home I notice that there is a small oil leak. In addition, I was comming home from Virginia to Maryland the other day, there was white smoke comming out from the undercarriage. The temp gauage was at or around 90F, but the car seems to run very hot. It was so hot that you can feel it on the hood. I found that one of the aux fan is not functioning, will it cause the heat? And what about the smoke from the undercarriage? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Have the engine inspected, as this model is noted head gasket leakage. The aux fan should be replaced under warranty also. Take a look at all of the tech-tips that hae been posted in that section of mercedesshop.

Also if the trans fluid is one drop over the full mark when the car is hot, it will puke it out on a long trip and cause the smoke. Have the level checked. Or check yourself. After the engine is warm (10 miles or so) check the dipstick for the trans, it can't be over the top line.
