Soft dash mat

I am working on an xmas list, and would like to put a soft dash mat for my w123 on there. I am always weary of blindly getting something, and I cannot find anything online about quality, fit, color, or a pic in a benz.

Does anybody out there have pics and/or info on dash mats? The higher quality the better. I want something nice, but needs to cover the speaker grills.

They're usually sold thru auto parts stores but I'm sure they're online as well. I had one for a Buick SW I owned which had such a shiny dash it reflected in the windshield and interferred with the view of the road.

They come in many colors and a few fabric surfaces but not likely to match your interior exactly -- just close. They are usually attached with velcro so you'll have to stick a few pieces of velcro to your dash. This is necessary since they slide so easily and you want to keep them from blocking things like defrost vents. Overall I was satisfied with how well it worked.

I'll see if I can shoot a pic of the one on "Fausta" - it came from the PO, I had a local seamstress remove the PO's name and put "Fausta" on it...and I found the receipt that the PO got when she had ordered it originally...I'll see if I can get you the information from that too.

I have found many online, but no info on which brand is better than others, which materials are 'nicer'. There are a ton of different ones out there none of them have pictures of what they look like in a benz. I just hate buying blindly.

I am not worried about the installation, my dash is trashed anyways.

mgburg: thanks, anything would help. How do you like the quality of yours?
