S500 Coupe Hood Dumb Question

Hi. New to this board. Just bought a 1996 S500 Coupe at wholesale auction. No paperwork of any kind with car.
Dumb question... how do you open the hood? I can get the first latch released from the inside handle but cannot find the second latch on the outside...
Help!!!
Thanks, KenP

s500 hood

There shpold be a "t" shaped handle that protrudes from the top of the grille near the center as you lift the hood. Pull foreward on it to relese the secondary catch. Maybe it broke

Peter and Wow, not so for a coupe!

The opener is found in the top portion of the grill's front star.

The first time I looked at a '92 - '99 coupe, I had the same problem!

S500 Hood

Thank you all for the prompt reply. Was trying to open the hood yesterday in a snowstorm while driving home for the wholesale place so I could add washer fluid. Who would have thought that Mercedes would put a 300,000 candle power bulb in the fluid level indicator? Really bright and annoying at night.
Anyway, couldn't find the release then and couldn't find it today in nice weather either.
Turns out Jim is right, its a small piece buried in the Mercedes star in the grill... not a T shaped handle like the Sedan must have.
Anyway, most important... got the hood open and don't feel so stupid anymore!
Many thanks! This board is terrific... will be asking for more help I'm sure...

I am sorry, I had a 89 SEC and SL and it was in the star, you are correct the sedans have it in the grill. I should read...
