General Question about 190E's

My wife just totalled our ' 94 E-320. Need help
I found the following:

'91 190E 2.6 @ 114K very clean 5K
'93 400SEL @ 83K very clean 14K
'96 C280 @ 90K very clean 10K

I like the 190 but am told has too many Head Gasket issues. Is this true? I had 86 300E before no porblems with Head gasket. Hve now '89 560SEL T/C and guides are new, burns a little oil at 145K but other than that no problem.

I have very little exp. with 2.6 engine. Is it as good as a 103 in the 300E?

Please help, with your opinions, I need to get something for her.

The 190E 2.6 motor is more or less identical to the 300E 3.0l motor. The difference of course is the displacement and power.

The M103 motors in both these cars don't experience the head gasket issues like the M104 motors do (C280, 300CE 1990+, 300E 1993 etc.)

The M103 motors are pretty bullet proof.

Any of those three mentioned cars would be a good choice, although I suspect the 400SEL is going to cost more to maintain, while the 190 would cost the least.
